FUMSS Wins Quran Competition, Shines at OAU Muslimah Summit

Fountain University’s Muslim Students’ Society (FUMSS) has made a remarkable mark at the just concluded Muslimah Summit organized by Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), as its representative, Najeebah Adebayo, emerged victorious in the highly competitive Quran Recitation Competition. 

The three-day summit, held at OAU’s central mosque, was themed ‘Unity in Diversity: Many Colours, One Canvas.’ It brought together Muslim women from various universities, fostering unity, sisterhood, and personal growth through insightful discussions, skill-building workshops, and networking opportunities.

The Quran competition, a major highlight of the event, was divided into three categories—one Juz’ (part), two ajzaa, and ten Juz’. Competing in the 10 ajzaa’ category, Najeebah Adebayo demonstrated outstanding mastery of the Quran, securing the top position and bringing pride to Fountain University.

Beyond the competition, the summit featured engaging discussions led by accomplished speakers from fields such as academia, business, medicine, and technology. Attendees also participated in practical workshops covering self-defense, personal care, and entrepreneurship, equipping them with valuable skills for personal and spiritual growth.

A vibrant trade fair showcased the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of Muslim women, while the event culminated in a grand dinner night, a halal social gathering that reinforced the summit’s message of unity, empowerment, and shared values.

With this outstanding achievement, FUMSS continues to establish itself as a hub of excellence, reflecting the commitment of Fountain University’s students to both academic and spiritual success.
