FUMSS Commissions Solar Power System at Fountain University Clinic

The Fountain University Muslim Students’ Society (FUMSS) has commissioned a solar power system for the university clinic as part of its commitment to enhancing student welfare and sustainable development on campus. The commissioning took place on Monday.

The initiative, a legacy contribution of the immediate past administration led by Monsur Muadh, was donated as a form of sadaqah and institutional support to ensure continuous power supply for essential health services at the clinic.

Speaking at the event, the current Ameer of FUMSS, Abiola Abdullah, described the project as a significant contribution to student health and welfare.

“We are here today to uphold the legacy of our predecessors and continue the impactful projects they initiated for this institution,” he said. He noted that the solar installation would serve as a reliable backup during power outages, ensuring smooth medical operations.

The commissioning was graced by top university officials, led by representatives of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olayinka Ramota Kareem, who commended the foresight and dedication of the students.

The Chairman of the Muslim Community, Dr. Akinlabi Kazeem, expressed his appreciation to the students:

“I sincerely appreciate the students, especially the past administration. This is a truly impactful and much-needed project, not only within the school clinic but even in our personal homes. We encourage the incoming executives to do even more. May Allah guide and support you all.”

He concluded with prayers, saying, “Al-jazā’u li-l-ihsān illā al-ihsān, there is no reward for excellence except excellence. Just as you have provided light for this clinic, may Allah bring light into your lives, grant you provision, and reward you abundantly. You thought ahead and executed this, may Allah bless you for it.”

The event ended with prayers and appreciation to the donors and past leadership for their foresight and continued service to the Ummah and the university community.
