Fountain Muslim Students Execs inaugurated charged on Exemplary Leadership.

Leaders of Muslim Students Society, Fountain University, Osogbo (FUO) have been charged to be modest and lead an exemplary life. Associate Prof. Muhibi Musa has urged the Muslim Students of Fountain University, Osogbo on the need to imbibe leadership culture as preached by Islam by leading with trust and sense of responsibility.
Professor Musa stated this on Sunday August 21, 2022 at the maiden leadership retreat held for the new Executives of Fountain University Muslim Students’ Society (FUMSS). He added that the new executives should be a good examples to the Muslim students especially here on campus, to make Islam more fascinating for people to join or improve upon.
An Imam of FUO, Mallam Abdulwaheed Badmus inaugurated the new executive members of the Muslim Students led by Mallam Abdullah Lawal of the Department of Economics. A lecturer from the Department of Mass Communication Department, Mr Ridwan Kolawole, in his presentation, on combining academic with spiritual leadership noted that being an executive member is not an excuse not to excel in one’s academic activities.
Mr Kolawole who recalled his experience being MSSN during his undergraduate days in the University of Ibadan it could be challenging “to combine both academic and extracurricular activities. But one has to be fully prepared because it is our primary assignment in this universe”.
Mr Sanni also of the Department of Mass Communication noted that correcting negative attitudes once sighted is important, an example is seeing someone dressing badly, the important thing to do is to try and preach to them. Mr Sanni posited that applying patience and perseverance are essential ingredients expected of leaders who aspire to succeed.
One of the University’s Imams, Mr Abdulkabeer Akinlabi of the ICT explained that one of the best ways of propagating dawah is using the Internet, which is social media. He said this is so because people spend more on social media these days. Speaking on the topic “Doing Dawah in the Era of a Networked Society”, Mr Akinlabi enjoined the new executive members to embrace social media as tools to propagate Islam.
The Staff Adviser to the Fountain Muslim Students, Dr Rasheed Adebiyi described being appointed as members of FUMSS executives as an invitation to serve Allah and advised the new Excos to put in their bests in order to make it more better than it was.
